EXPERIMENT 2 - SUBMISSION

The textures used were:
Light texture

Medium texture

Dark texture

The light texture was inspired from Adolf Loos - the mathematical and logical side of architecture. I have decided to use the main floor of the building to be covered in this rigid texture to reinforce the idea of "simple is best".

The medium texture was inspired from Jenny Wu's concept of visual and perceptual void. In order for the circulation within the light rail stop happen, there must be linkages, voids and subtle, unconscious signals integrated within the architecture. This is the major function of the stop and hence was applied to the platform at which the users will get on and off at.

The darkest structure was inspired from both the architects. Although their values are different, the quest to find what seems most natural, aesthetic, functional and timeless is seen in all architects. I believe that the best architect/structural engineer in the world is nature itself, as it creates with curiously perfect fashion. Therefore, the most organic part of the model was given this dark texture.

EXPERIMENT 2 - INDIVIDUAL TASK

Week 2

Develop your light rail stop on Lumion

Experimenting with ideas on texture, atmosphere and theme (sustainability).

EXPERIMENT 2 - TASK 2

Week 2
Draw combination of curvilinear and rectilinear solids.

The solids were drawn by hand then edited using Adobe Photoshop. The rectilinear solids were usually the one being used as the "site" while the curvilinear solids were parts of the light rail stop.

EXPERIMENT 2 - INDIVIDUAL TASK

Lumion environment - two scenes of one pair of axonometric drawings from class

In this exercise, I was able to experiment with the different landscape settings on Lumion and place necessary objects.

EXPERIMENT 2 - TASK 1

Week 1
Draw 12 axonometrics of six solids, each representing one concept from Adolf Loos or Jenny Wu

Adolf Loos:

Adolf Loos was an architect who denied ornaments on buildings and focused on structure of the building and its function. His architecture consisted of smooth, unadorned facades and use of geometry with linear characteristics.

Jenny Wu:
Jenny Wu is an architect who uses 3D printing and modelling to design her architecture. Major focus is towards layering, organic/natural curves and complex geometry.
